Community Health of Central Washington – Ellensburg Clinic Renovation




This project consisted of demolishing the interior portion of an existing office building and constructing new medical offices. The overall size of the building was 10,500 square feet.


Demolition

Demolition work required removing all materials except structural building components. Asbestos abatement was performed by a subcontractor prior to standard demolition work. Portions of the existing slab-on-grade were removed to allow for the new underground plumbing. Roofing was also removed for new.


Interior

Interior construction included repairing existing wood trusses as required, repairing/leveling the existing slab-on-grade for new flooring as required, interior metal stud walls, insulation & gypsum wallboard, paint, vinyl wall covering, wood trim, and plastic laminate. Carpet and VCT flooring, and acoustical ceilings were installed. Misc. specialties such as a roof hatch, signs, and an accordion folding door were installed. A small portion of exterior masonry and stucco was installed to replace existing door openings. Automatic sliding entrance doors, interior wood doors, and interior coiling doors were also installed. A significant amount of cabinets and casework was installed throughout the building.


Complete mechanical and electrical systems were installed, including new electrical conduits and conductors from the existing electrical vault.


Exterior Building and Sitework

The exterior work included new SBS roofing, new asphalt shingle roofing, and new structural steel members on the roof to support the new rooftop HVAC units. Asphalt patching was done as required, and the majority of the existing asphalt parking lot was sealed and striped.
