The Sundome is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Yakima Valley. It is home to the Yakama Sunkings professional basketball team, numerous high school sporting events, the Silver Spur pro rodeo and other large events. The Phase One Expansion consisted of adding locker rooms, office space, convention and conference rooms and a new ticket booth.
The structure was a combination of CMU and structural steel framework, with structural steel decking at the 2nd floor level and roof. Construction included CMU and brick masonry finishes over steel stud walls, aluminum storefront window systems, a second floor exterior balcony, and ceramic tile finishes at the locker rooms.
